After starting in karts at age 16, Renger van der Zande was a Formula Renault champion and Formula 3 pacesetter, finishing fourth in the 2008 Euro Series and third in the British series in 2009 despite missing three races. His other single-seater highlights include A1GP in 2006 and a trio of top-seven results in the Macau Grand Prix. Renger turned professional in 2011 with a Mercedes DTM drive, moving up to GT and LMP2 for 2012. After showing his speed in selected ALMS races in 2013 he has now a full season commitment in the new USCC.
